Colchester United have signed defender Chris Barker on loan from Championship rivals Cardiff City until January. Barker, 26, is available for Saturday's match at West Brom, subject to the move receiving clearance from the Football Associations of England and Wales.
U's manager Geraint Williams told BBC Essex: "Chris is a player I've admired for some time.
"We've played against Cardiff in the past and he's got lots of experience so to get him in is great."
