Brown commits to Clyde until 2011

John Brown has agreed to extend his contract as Clyde manager for a further two years.

The new deal keeps the 46-year-old former Rangers defender at the First Division club until May 2011.

"I'm delighted that the board have shown their faith in me and I want to repay that," Brown told Clyde's official website.

"I'm totally committed to Clyde and I will do all that I can to help us progress."

Brown was appointed to the post in January 2008 and said his aim was to avoid relegation.

Clyde are currently flirting with Division One's danger zone; they lie second bottom of the table, two points clear of bottom-placed Airdrie United.

Bully Wee chairman Ian Letham said on the club's website: "As a board, we are pleased that John has agreed to extend his stay at Clyde.

"After several years of upheaval we value the importance of continuity and stability and the benefit that will bring to the club.

"Since his appointment John has worked tirelessly for Clyde and his contract extension is further evidence of the work going on behind the scenes to ensure that the Bully Wee can go from strength to strength."
