Trouten was impressed by Clyde boss John Brown's interest in him

Clyde manager John Brown has snapped up three new players as the First Division side move to strengthen their squad over the summer.

Marc McCusker makes the switch from Hearts, winger Alan Trouten arrives from Queen's Park and Ricky Waddell completes the trio from Airdrie United.

Trouten said: "John Brown made me feel really welcome and was clear about what I could bring to Clyde.

"There were a few clubs interested, but I wanted to come to Clyde."

The 22-year-old is joined by forward McCusker, 18, who started a loan spell with the Bully Wee in March, and 26-year-old attacking midfielder Waddell, on two-year deals.

Waddell has previously had spells at Falkirk, Partick Thistle and Hamilton Accies.

McCusker's loan period was blighted by injury following a promising start but has recovered full fitness.

"John Brown showed great interest in me and when we talked it was obvious he'd researched everything about my game," Trouten told the official club website.

"He's done a lot in the game and for someone like that to be interested was a big compliment.

"There's a lot of people with experience here and I feel as if I can only improve.

"Going full-time is a big thing for me and I'm looking forward to working every day with the rest of the boys.

Trouten will be reunited with former Queen's Park captain Stuart Kettlewell, who signed for Clyde at the end of May.

"I've known Stuart for four or five years and he's one of my best mates off the park as well," Trouten added.

"We know each other's game well, so hopefully we can bring that to the Clyde team."
