Chesterfield have sealed the capture of Southampton's Kyle Critchell on a free transfer until the end of the season. The 20-year-old Welsh Under-21 international will go straight into Chesterfield's squad to face Brighton at Saltergate on Saturday.
Critchell recently ended a three-month loan spell with Torquay United.
Chesterfield boss Roy McFarland said: "Kyle can play in defence or midfield and is either footed, clearly attributes for our small squad."
Meanwhile, full-back Shane Nicholson, 36, could leave Chesterfield to join Boston on a month's loan.
