Aston Villa have agreed to extend youngster Thomas Hitzlsperger's loan spell at Chesterfield for a further month.

Once that deal ends, the Spireites may be able to conclude a deal keeping the German at Saltergate until the end of the season.

However, Stefan Moore is set to return to Villa Park and will be recalled by the Premiership side when his month-long spell is completed at the weekend.

Manager Nicky Law said: "I am delighted that Thomas will be staying with us a while longer as he has slotted so well into the side.

"To see him play you would have thought he had been with us for months."
