Chester City fans expect to hear from their local council next week as to whether they will be allowed to take up ownership of their Deva Stadium home.
Cheshire West & Chester Council have received two proposals, one from the main fans group, City Fans United, the other from a Danish consortium.
A four-strong CFU committee team met on Thursday, 29 April with the CWAC at the council headquarters in Chester.
But a decision from the council is now not expected until early next week.
"Committee members Chris Pilsbury, Mike Vickers, David Evans, and Jim Green met with officials from Cheshire West and Chester Council," said a CFU statement.
"In that meeting, the CFU proposal for the lease to the Deva Stadium was put forward and will now be considered by CWaC officials.
"We have been advised that a final decision will be made early next week, which will be in time for our finalised application to be sent to the Football Association.
"We would like to thank Cheshire West & Chester Council for their efficient handling of the matter and look forward to their decision. City Fans United remain confident that our application will be successful."
Chester, relegated from the Football League in April 2009, were expelled from the Conference in February for failing to fulfil fixtures due to debts of over £200,000 and were officially wound up in the High Court on 10 March.
But they plan to start life again as Chester Football Club in August, by which time they hope to have been admitted to one of the Conference's feeder leagues.
An application from Danish consortium Fodbold Selskabet was also due to be considered on Thursday.
