Chester boss Jim Harvey upbeat despite Cambridge defeat
Jim Harvey's side are once again 24 points adrift of Blue Square safety
Chester manager Jim Harvey believes his side deserved something from Tuesday's last-minute defeat at Cambridge.
"The boys were absolutely magnificent. They have given us everything," Harvey told BBC Radio Merseyside.
Danny Crow's last-gasp goal handed Blue Square bottom club Chester their fifth straight league defeat.
"It was really gut-wrenching to concede that goal so late on," added Harvey. "It was shocking. But the boys were excellent and played extremely well."
Having reached the halfway point of their league season, Chester are once again back to being 24 points adrift of safety.
They now await Saturday's home date with Luton Town, but only if their outstanding financial issues can be ironed out.
City face another battle on the pitch when they have been summoned for a meeting in Birmingham on Thursday to decide their future membership of the Football Conference.
It is hard for the players as they aren't getting what they deserve at the moment.

City are still seeking an agreement with the Football Association and the Football Conference about their non-payment of debts to creditors.
But Harvey, who will have on-loan Cambridge striker Mark Beesley available again after being forced to sit out Tuesday night's game, can only plan for Saturday's Deva date.
"Luton will be another big game for us," added Harvey. "But it is hard for the players as they aren't getting what they deserve at the moment.
"If they continue to listen and work together as a group, as they are doing, then we will turn these results into positive ones and we will take points."
