More turmoil at troubled Chester

Chester City

Chester City face an uncertain future following a High Court ruling in favour of HM Revenue and Customs.

HMRC's objection to the club's recent Company Voluntary Arrangement was upheld by the court.

The recent CVA saw the Vaughan family, backed by former owner Stephen Vaughan, take the club out of voluntary financial administration.

City had been refused affiliation to the Football Association, while they awaited the ruling.

Without affiliation to the FA, Chester will be unable to take their place in the Blue Square Premier next season.
