Chester City manager Simon Davies has described the 6-1 defeat by Rochdale on Tuesday as a "bad night".
City ended up with 10 men following defender Glen Rule's first-half red card, and their only consolation came from a Rory McArdle own goal.
Davies told BBC Radio Merseyside: "We gave away an early goal which could have been avoided.
"After that you get the sending-off and from there the night just got worse. It's a really bad night for us."
