New Chester City signing Eddie Johnson believes his side deserved at least a point from their 2-1 defeat to Port Vale on Sunday.
Johnson made his debut against Vale following his move to City on a free transfer and believes his side were unlucky after a good second period.
"Second half I thought we were definitely on top," said Johnson.
"We just had a disappointing start and obviously them scoring was the kick-start we needed."
City's form had improved over recent weeks before the defeat to Vale and Johnson admitted they now need to bounce back in Tuesday's trip to Rochdale.
"We've go to start picking up points as quickly as possible," Johnson continued. "The lads know in the dressing room know we've got enough to be in a better position than we are in the league.
"So we've just got to pick ourselves up and get a good result on Tuesday night."
