Chester City have appointed Simon Davies as their manager until the end of the season.

The club's former youth team boss had been acting as caretaker manager since the dismissal of Bobby Williamson at the start of the month.

Davies told Chester's website: "I am as pleased as Punch to have been given the job, and I am pleased that the club's owner has given me the opportunity."

The 33-year-old plans to name an assistant later this week.
