![]() | Monday, 18 February, 2002, 12:06 GMT Chester sign Carey Chester City have signed midfielder Shaun Carey following his release from Rushden and Diamonds. The 25-year-old agreed a deal with the Conference strugglers after having his contract at Nene Park terminated by mutual consent. His debut could come against Nuneaton on Tuesday evening as Chester look to continue their recent improvement under Mark Wright. Carey, who joined Rushden from Norwich in September 2000 after making 50 League starts for the Canaries, played in the Conference last season when he helped Rushden clinch the title and promotion. But he has found his opportunities limited in Division Three and recently spent a spell on loan with Stevenage Borough. | Internet links: The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites Other top Chester stories: Links to more Chester stories are at the foot of the page. | ||
