Robins striker Damien Spencer has had two knee operations in 18 months
Cheltenham striker Damien Spencer wants to prove his fitness so he can push for a starting place in the Robins' FA Cup replay at Oldham on Tuesday week.
Spencer told BBC Gloucestershire: "I've been coming in early and working hard on strengthening exercises in the last three weeks to get my fitness up."
"There is a reserve game on Tuesday and hopefully I can play a bigger part than I did in the game last Monday."
Spencer has yet to play a full game since his knee operation in the summer.
Cheltenham held a 2-0 half time lead at Whaddon Road on Saturday. But Chris Taylor's early second-half penalty, followed by Danny Whitaker's deflected shot a quarter of an hour from time set up a Boundary Park replay on 18 November (1945 GMT).
"The lads are still positive," said Spencer. "Hopefully we can go up there and get a result.
"We went there in 2002 and nicked the game 2-1 and anything can happen in the Cup, so you never know."
