Cheltenham Town have signed former Bristol City midfielder Alex Russell on a two-year contract.
The 35-year-old, who was released by City boss Gary Johnson in the summer, had a successful loan spell at Whaddon Road last season.
Cheltenham manager Keith Downing said: "I'm absolutely delighted to have Alex on board with us.
"He was a big influence on our recovery last year and his experience will be invaluable to us."
Downing added: "Alex has a strong desire to prolong his career and I'm sure he can play a major role for us over the next two years."
