McCann joined Cheltenham from West Ham for 50,000 in 2003 |
Midfielder Grant McCann insists he is focused on his form for Cheltenham - despite being linked with a move away. "If I'm going to leave, I want to do whatever is best for Cheltenham Town and I don't want to be moving for next to nothing," he told the club website.
"But if I go now, I would expect the club to get a bit more money."
Boss John Ward revealed last week that there had been "a couple of enquiries" for McCann, who is out of contract in the summer and has rejected a new deal.
Cardiff had been among the clubs linked with the Northern Ireland international, who could leave on loan with a view to concluding a permanent move in January.
However, the Football League's window for loan signings closes on Thursday at 1700 GMT - so if no deal is done before then, he would remain at Whaddon Road until the new year.
