Man Utd result spurred us on - Ancelotti

Carlo Ancelotti has urged Chelsea not to lose focus in their Premier League run-in, despite going four points clear at the top of the table.

The Blues secured a 2-0 win over Wolves that resulted in them extending their lead over second-placed Manchester United, who lost to Everton.

But manager Ancelotti said: "This is a big win for us after the United result.

"We have 11 games to play and four points is a nice gap to have but we must stay focused, nothing is decided."

The victory at Molineux was a hard-fought one for Chelsea as they had to resist a brave performance from the hosts.

Didier Drogba proved to be the difference, grabbing both the goals, but keeper Petr Cech was equally, if not more, crucial as he made two excellent saves at 1-0 to keep Wolves at bay.

Ancelotti conceded: "This was a very difficult match for us.

"It was difficult to play football, but we stayed focused and were ready to fight for a fantastic result.

"After we saw the Manchester United result, it improved our strength and our confidence and we knew it would be an important moment to win. We did it."

The Italian paid tribute to his match-winners as well and added: "Didier is doing very well, not just because of his goals but because of his leadership with his team-mates. His work rate is very good.

"But Petr was man of the match because he saved the result for us when it was 1-0 and then he produced an excellent assist for our second goal.

"It was a great performance from those two and a fantastic victory."
