John Terry will miss FA Cup tie after heading to Dubai
Terry was at fault for Everton's second goal at Goodison Park
John Terry will miss Chelsea's FA Cup tie with Cardiff on Saturday after flying to Dubai to visit his wife.
The Chelsea captain's wife Toni has been in the Emirates with the couple's children to escape the media following allegations about Terry's private life.
Terry, 29, was sacked as England captain after claims he had an affair with an ex-team-mate's former partner.
However, Fifa president Sepp Blatter has suggested that Terry would have been "applauded" in Latin countries.
On Thursday, Blatter said that the amount of news coverage generated by Terry's alleged affair with Wayne Bridge's ex-girlfriend Vanessa Perroncel was due to a "special approach in the Anglo-Saxon countries."
Wilkins full of praise for Everton
Terry played in Chelsea's 2-1 defeat at Goodison Park on Wednesday and then boarded a flight to Dubai the following morning.
"John has been given a few days leave and will not play on Saturday," said Chelsea assistant manager Ray Wilkins.
Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has publicly backed his skipper but was expected to discuss the issue with Terry after the Premier League clash against Everton on Wednesday.
Terry was outstanding in the 2-0 victory over Arsenal on Sunday, which sent Chelsea back to the top of the table, but he looked shaky in the defeat at Goodison Park and was at fault for Louis Saha's second goal.
"I think that's inevitable when you're playing against someone like Louis Saha," added Wilkins.
"John isn't infallible, he will miss headers and he will get beaten in the air, but he's been absolutely outstanding for us. We've been delighted with the way he's played."
