Drogba makes comeback from injury

Drogba was dismissed in the Champions League final

Chelsea striker Didier Drogba lasted for nearly an hour on his return to action after a knee injury on Monday.

The 30-year-old has not played since Chelsea's Champions League final defeat by Manchester United on 21 May.

The Ivory Coast international turned out for Chelsea's reserves in a 3-2 win over Arsenal, and appeared to come through the victory unscathed.

Drogba set up a goal in the first half before being replaced by youngster Fabio Paim in the 58th minute.

Drogba was linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge during the summer, with AC Milan stating they were interested in signing the player.

But he has stayed and, if there is no negative reaction, could return to the Chelsea side after the international break for the game against Manchester City on 13 September.
