Chelsea have signed goalkeeper Stuart Searle from Conference South side Basingstoke Town. He worked for Chelsea part-time but now has a full-time role as player-coach for the reserves and academy.
The Blues have recruited Searle, 28, as a back-up reserve keeper having sold Yves Makaba-Makalamby to Hibernian.
"They only have one keeper and needed a second one for the reserves. My name was put forward and it turned out nicely," he told Radio BBC Berkshire.
Searle joined Basingstoke in November 2005 and has also played for Wimbledon, Crawley and Aldershot.
