The first leg at Stamford Bridge passed off without incident |
Chelsea's Champions League quarter-final match against Valencia passed off peacefully on Tuesday. An estimated 2,500 Chelsea supporters travelled to Spain for the decisive leg of the European encounter.
Security in the Spanish city had been tightened following the violence which marred last week's Uefa Cup tie between Sevilla and Tottenham in Seville.
Special forces were drafted in to work alongside local police in Valencia but as anticipated, there was no trouble.
Chelsea won the match 2-1 with a last-minute goal to progress to the semi-finals 3-2 on aggregate.
