Adrian Mutu has dropped his claim for unfair dismissal against Chelsea. That means the Romanian, dismissed by the Blues and banned until May after a positive test for cocaine, is free to pursue his new career with Juventus.
However, the Football Association was not able to transfer his registration to the Italian FA until the outcome of the unfair dismissal claim.
The Premier League was due to hear the case on Thursday, but Mutu has decided not to go ahead with it.
Chelsea have always maintained they would seek compensation from Mutu if he signed for another club.
