Defender Glen Johnson has moved to Chelsea from West Ham for a �6m fee. The 18-year-old has signed a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge and is due to fly out to Italy almost immediately to join the rest of the squad in their pre-season preparations.
"They are a great club. There are lots of internationals here and I can't wait to play with all the players," Johnson told Chelsea TV.
"I just want to get out there and to get to know everybody."
The England under-21 international forced his way into the West Ham first team towards the end of last season and produced a series of composed performances at full-back.

In that time he established a reputation as one of the English game's brightest young talents despite the Hammers eventually being relegated from the Premiership.
Johnson is the first confirmed signing of a new era at Stamford Bridge under the Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich.
Cameroon star Geremi is expected to join him at the club after his club Real Madrid agreed a �6.9m transfer fee with the London club.
