Charlton Athletic dealt Rob Elliot injury blow

Charlton keeper Rob Elliot has been ruled out for a month through injury.

Elliot, 24, fell awkwardly in training on Tuesday and scans have revealed he has chipped a bone in his elbow.

It means Ross Worner is the Addicks' only senior keeper, but manager Phil Parkinson has the option of bringing in a player on loan.

"We need to bring in another keeper before the weekend and I'm working hard to make that happen," Parkinson told the club website.

"Obviously the news is a big blow. As soon as I saw Rob holding his elbow in some discomfort the alarm bells sounded," he added.

Elliot, who has made 67 appearances for the club, was sidelined towards the end of last season with back spasms and was forced to sit out the early part of the current campaign with the same problem.
