Charlton Athletic have revealed they plan to organise a benefit match for ex-Addicks winger Colin Powell as part of their pre-season preparation.

Manager Alan Pardew said he hopes the proposed benefit match will attract interest from a top club.

No details of the game or potential opponents have been confirmed yet.

Colin 'Paddy' Powell scored 35 goals in 358 appearances for the Addicks in two spells in the 1970s and early 80s and is currently the Valley groundsman .
