Moutaouakil had attracted interest from Premiership clubs |
Charlton Athletic have signed France Under-21 captain Yassin Moutaouakil from Chateauroux for around 400,000. The 20-year-old right-back, who had also attracted the interest of Everton, Aston Villa, Celtic and Lazio, has signed a four-year deal at The Valley.
Charlton manager Alan Pardew said: "I'm delighted to sign Yassin and we have very high hopes for him.
"He's a player a number of clubs were very interested in and we're naturally very pleased he has chosen Charlton."
Pardew added: "He brings exactly the qualities we are going to need in the Championship next season.
"He's a very honest player who wants to succeed and he has plenty of hunger."
