Jeffers' career has taken a downward turn |
Charlton have released strikers Shaun Bartlett, Jonatan Johansson and Francis Jeffers after their contracts at the Premiership club came to an end. Jeffers, 25, has struggled to make an impact at the club since his 2.6m move from Arsenal in August 2004.
Bartlett, 33, and 30-year-old Johansson have each spent nearly six years at The Valley but rarely figured for the first team during the past campaign.
Johansson could move to Norwich where he ended last season on loan.
Johansson told the club's official website: "It has been a great six years, but football has its ups and downs and everything has to come to an end. Looking back I had a great time."
Bartlett added: "I have always been made to feel very welcome at Charlton, and want to thank the club and fans for that. I had a great time.
"It is the end of an era, with Alan Curbishley leaving as manager as well.
"I have got quite a few options now, but I have not made any decisions yet."
