Birmingham midfielder Bryan Hughes has joined Charlton in a three-year deal after leaving the Blues on a Bosman free transfer. The 28-year-old recently rejected a new three-year offer at Birmingham after coming to the end of his previous deal.
"We're very pleased to have acquired Bryan because he will add goals from midfield," said Addicks assistant boss Keith Peacock.
"He can play in any position across the midfield and is a good all-rounder."
Peacock added: "I'm sure he'll prove to be a good signing for the next three seasons." Hughes joined Birmingham from Wrexham in 1997 for 1m and made 291 appearances, scoring 42 goals.
Charlton are also currently in talks with Denmark and PSV Eindhoven winger Dennis Rommedahl as the club look to strengthen their squad with the proceeds of Scott Parker's 10m transfer to Chelsea.
