Rasmussen joined Celtic in January for �1m and scored twice in 15 games

Celtic striker Morten Rasmussen has agreed a deal to spend a year on loan with Bundesliga side FSV Mainz.

The 25-year-old will have an option to remain with the German side until 2014 after the clubs agreed on the move.

Rasmussen signed for Celtic in January after scoring 12 goals in 15 games for Brondby, hitting the net twice in 10 matches in the reminder of the season.

The arrival of Spurs striker Robbie Keane at Celtic Park meant the Dane spent most of the season on the bench.
