Guzan impressed Celtic during his spell training with the club |
Celtic have offered a contract to US international goalkeeper Brad Guzan. The 23-year-old Chivas keeper, who is valued at 1m, spent last week training with the squad at Lennoxtown.
Celtic manager Gordon Strachan said the move for Guzan did not mean number one Artur Boruc, who signed a new deal this month, was poised to leave the club.
"I'm thinking about Brad as an investment for the future. If you get someone who could be good value for years then you do it," said Strachan.
Guzan arrived at Celtic Park after starring for his country in a 2-0 friendly win over Sweden.

Polish international Boruc recently extended his contract until 2011, but has stated his ambition to play in a bigger league at some stage of his career.
Meanwhile, Strachan said 22-year-old Japan midfielder Koki Mizuno will arrive in Glasgow in the coming days.
Mizuno is currently nearing the end of his contract with J-League side JEF United.
"The arrangements are nearly completed and it looks like he will be here before the window closes," said Strachan.
"I think the future looks very positive."
