David Marshall has lacked first-team starts for Celtic |
Celtic manager Gordon Strachan insists that David Marshall's career is not over with the Scottish champions. The Scotland international has been loaned out to Norwich City while Celtic have paid Inverness Caledonian Thistle about 100,000 for Mark Brown.
But Strachan said: "It doesn't change a thing. We had a dilemma with David and we are only doing this so he can get better for us and himself.
"That means that, when he comes back, we will have four good goalies."
Brown will now be understudy to Artur Boruc, the Poland international who has been linked with a summer move to Arsenal.
"As I said before, David has a huge future at this club, but he needed games," said Strachan.
"We knew about Mark and he was always in our sights. We've just brought it forward.
"With his contract coming to an end, he was easier to deal with.
"So it's fantastic, we have another smashing goalkeeper."
