Gordon Strachan thought Hearts would tire after the break |
Celtic manager Gordon Strachan has ruled out the possibility of signing striker Robbie Keane from Tottenham. Keane had been linked with a move to Celtic Park hours before Celtic's 2-1 victory away to Hearts.
"I don't think that will happen," said Strachan. "I don't think a player like that would be allowed out on loan."
Celtic's two goals came after Craig Beattie came on as a substitute and Strachan said: "He gave us strength and determination and gave them problems."
Strachan had told his side that, despite being 1-0 down at half-time, that Hearts could not sustain their high-tempo game.
"Hearts did well in the first half, but we dug in," he told BBC Sport.
"We told them it would die down after 15 minutes of the second half."
Asked whether the 17-point gap at the top of the Scottish Premier League was enough to ensure that Celtic would retain their title, Strachan said: "We're definitely happy.
"Hearts are definitely rivals and to come here and win is a great bonus."
