Petrov certain to quit Parkhead
Petrov has been at Celtic for seven years
Petrov has been at Celtic for seven years
The agent now acting for Stilian Petrov says it is inevitable the midfielder will leave Celtic.

Tony McGill says several clubs have already expressed an interest in the 26-year-old Bulgarian.

"Stilian is not going to stay. He has been thinking about this for six months now," said McGill. "Obviously, Gordon Strachan wants him to stay.

"But now Stan has put it in writing, it is a weight off his shoulders. The club will have to let him go."

McGill says he agreed to act on Petrov's behalf only after the player decided to leave the club.

He stressed that no-one could now persuade Petrov to stay.

"I have had contact from other agents representing various clubs all over Europe and these have been directed to Celtic," he added.

"I have not done anything wrong and it's out of my hands until - if and when - Celtic accept an offer from a club.

"There were clubs in for Stan in January when he had nothing to do with me at the time.

"I wasn't his agent then but it doesn't matter who his agent is if he decides to leave."
