Lennon hopes to open contract talks with Celtic |
Celtic captain Neil Lennon expects to open contract talks with the club and hopes to stay on for another season. The 34-year-old told the Celtic View: "The situation's very similar to the one I was in at the end of last season and I'm pretty relaxed about it all.
"I'm not putting the club under any pressure and vice versa.
"That said, we'll no doubt sit down and talk about it nearer the end of the season and I obviously hope there will be a desire there to keep me."
Lennon was tipped to depart with former Celtic boss Martin O'Neill at the end of last season, with a number of Premiership clubs chasing his signature.
However, manager Gordon Strachan persuaded the midfielder to stay on and immediately made him the club skipper.
And, with Celtic running away with the championship, Lennon believes he made the right decision.
"I'm loving it at the minute, that's for sure," added the former Northern Ireland international.
"These are great times for this club as far as I`m concerned and, although you always know the bubble can burst at any minute, I think everyone in the team is really enjoying being a part of what's happening."
