David Marshall had started the season as first choice |
Celtic goalkeeper David Marshall says he cannot afford to spend another season as a substitute. Marshall has become second choice to the Polish international Artur Boruc after starting the season in the team.
"I'll maybe have a chat with the manager (Gordon Strachan) towards the end of the summer," added Marshall.
But he continued: "I've still got two-and-a-half years left on my contract and unless I hear differently I'll be here for the duration of that."
Strachan refused to allow Marshall to leave on loan in January as he and Boruc are the only two senior keepers at the club.
"There's not a lot happening in terms of people coming in and asking about me," added Marshall.
"I don't think with the experience I've had I can afford to sit on the bench for another year."
