Henrik Larsson could be bound for Spain in the summer |
Osasuna coach Javier Aguirre has confirmed he would like to take Celtic striker Henrik Larsson to Spain at the end of his contract. Larsson will leave Celtic at the end of this season and Spain is thought to be his preferred destination.
Osasuna are the first to explicitly state their interest in signing him.
"Larsson is an option. He's a very interesting player, and to me it seems an attractive option," Aguirre told Radio Marca.
"He wants to come to Spain and we will do what we can to bring him here.
"He's part of our agenda and if he's on the market, we'll make the most of it."
Osasuna sporting director Juan Lorenzo, however, insists finances will dictate the type of player the club can attract.
"After the season we will make our choices. We are not looking for any specific player for any role," he said.
"Obviously, we'll have to say which players stay here before we can look.
"We have limitations with regards to the transfer market and we will have to evaluate the situation if we are to bring in any other player.
"Aguirre only said that Larsson is a good player, as many other clubs have said before."
Real Mallorca, Benfica and Olympiakos are also thought to be interested in signing the Swede.
