Sutton blow for Celtic
Chris Sutton tussles with Teplice's Michal Dolezal

An injury to Chris Sutton has marred Celtic's 3-1 Uefa Cup aggregate victory over Teplice.

Celtic boss Martin O'Neill said: "He went over on his ankle and must be a doubt for Sunday's Scottish Cup quarter-final against Rangers."

Teplice won the second leg thanks to a Jiri Masek goal and O'Neill admitted complacency from his side.

"I think there was element of that, but we are through the tie, which is the important thing," he said.

"I think travelling away from home in Europe is always difficult and Teplice's victories over Feyenoord and Kaiserslautern suggest they are a good side.

They have a great record and we have beat them, which means a lot
Teplice coach Frantisek Straka
"We were a wee bit tentative in the first half and we were far from our best, but we never looked in serious danger."

Victory will have Celtic fans dreaming of another long run in the competition, having lost to Porto in last season's Uefa Cup final.

But O'Neill pointed out: "The talk is of us not being seeded in the last 16, so we are bound to get a big gun in the next round."

O'Neill has already this month lost strikers John Hartson and Shaun Maloney for the rest of the season and could be left with just one experienced front man for Sunday.

Sutton failed to finish the game in Teplice along with midfielder Jackie McNamara and both are doubtful to face Rangers.

"Chris is pretty sore at the moment and I don't know what his chances are for Sunday at the moment," said O'Neill.

"Those two are a problem. Jackie has a sore shin at the moment, so I'll have to wait and see what happens."

Teplice coach Frantisek Straka paid tribute to his side but was not so pleased with referee Tom Hennig Ovrebo for failing to award his side an early penalty for a handball by Bobo Balde.

He said: "It could have been 1-0 after 10 minutes. Everyone could have seen it was a penalty kick because of a handball.

"But all the players and myself are happy that we won and they have a great record and we have beat them, which means a lot and we can take a lot from that."
