Balde has been an important player for Celtic over the past two seasons |
Celtic defender Bobo Balde says he would be willing to commit himself to the club for the rest of his career. Manager Martin O'Neill has spoken of his desire to secure a number of key players whose contracts expire next summer on extended deals.
Balde has 16 months left on his contract and is keen to extend that.
"I will talk to the manager about my situation as soon as possible. I feel happy and that's important. I want to stay," he told the Sunday Times.
"But, if I have a new deal, I want it to be for another four years.
"When I came in 2001, I signed for four years and I want to to do the same again.
"I'm not the type who likes to sign for one or two years. I like to know what the long-term future is for me and my family.
"Basically, if Celtic want to keep me and the length of contract is there I will be happy to finish my career here.
"I'm 28 and have at least four or five good years left."
