Abbott is targeting another front man

Carlisle United boss Greg Abbott says signing a striker in time for the new season remains a priority.

Abbott saw his forwards draw a blank again in the 2-0 friendly defeat to Middlesbrough on Saturday, and admits United are in need of more firepower.

"There's not a deal imminent but there's massive work going on to try to get one in," he told BBC Radio Cumbria.

"We're not desperate because we want to give our lads an opportunity, but we do want another one in."
