Carlisle boss John Ward has urged his players to build on their first-leg win against Leeds on Monday by booking a place in the play-off final.

Ward's side welcome Leeds to Brunton Park on Thursday knowing just a draw would take them to Wembley, and Ward is hopeful his side can complete the job.

"It's a cracking game, my team have had a bit to say and hopefully my team can reproduce," he told BBC Radio Cumbria.

"Tonight we can say we've dealt with a lot of things very well."

A large contingent of Carlisle supporters made their way to a capacity Elland Road and Ward believes their presence helped spur his side on.

"Although there was a lot of noise around we could hear the fans where we were, we paid our respects to them at the end," he said.

"When you are together as a group, whether it's 1,400 or 40,000, it's a big thing and the team respect that and have responded to it.

"We've got to do it again, and I hope the supporters get with us on Thursday."
