John Ward believes the FA decision should have been final
Carlisle United boss John Ward believes that retracting Leeds United's 15-point penalty would be unfair to other clubs battling at the top of League One.
Leeds face an independent tribunal on Wednesday. And Ward admits: "I think Leeds will get something back."
But Ward is not happy about the timing of the appeal. "The goalposts will have been changed with three games to go which would be strange," he said.
"Rules are made at the beginning of the season and should be adhered to."
Meanwhile, Ward has called for Carlisle fans to back down in their anger at Leeds United defender Paul Huntingdon.
The Cumbrian-born player made gestures to the crowd in Carlisle's 3-2 defeat at Elland Road last Saturday but Ward feels it is now best to forgive and forget.
"I was aware that he was deliberately putting his arms up to the Carlisle supporters," Ward told BBC Radio Cumbria. "Since then I've read at how sorry he is and he has apologised and I think we have to be big enough to accept that."
