Carlisle reject Bridges move talk
Michael Bridges
Bridges has left England for a loan spell with Sydney FC
Carlisle owner Fred Story has refuted claims made by striker Michael Bridges that he was set to rejoin the club.

Bridges, 29, who scored 15 goals in 30 league appearances during a spell with the Cumbrians in 2005/06, left Hull on Monday to join Sydney FC on loan.

He had asserted that he had been set to move back to Brunton Park before John Ward's recent arrival as manager.

But Story told BBC Radio Cumbria the claims were "rubbish" and that no direct contact had been made with him.

Meanwhile, Ward has extended Preston winger Joe Anyinsah's loan spell at Brunton Park for another two months.

The 22-year-old has scored once in six appearances during his first month with the League One side.

"It was an agreement that was ongoing when I arrived, and I'm happy to continue with that," Ward told Carlisle's website.

"There will be a 24-hour recall clause for Preston, which is normal, but we're pleased to keep him here."
