Paul Simpson was left disappointed by Swansea's winner |
Carlisle manager Paul Simpson thought there was a suspicion of a handball over Swansea's winner in the Football League Trophy final at Cardiff. Adebayo Akinfenwa bundled his way through to seal a 2-1 win for the Swans nine minutes before the end.
Simpson said: "There was a definite suspicion of handball but I don't want to sound bitter and twisted about it.
"The lad stuck it away well but I think we could have had a little bit more help from the officials on that one."
Carlisle are still three points clear at the top of League Two in their first season back in the Football League following promotion through the Conference play-offs.
And Simpson is eager for the Cumbrians to complete the job in their final seven games of the season.
He added: "We can concentrate on the league now and start preparing for the match against Grimsby next weekend."
