Simpson is hoping to guide Carlisle back into the League |
Carlisle United player-manager Paul Simpson says he is trying to bring teenage striker Kelvin Langmead back to Brunton Park next season. The Preston forward made 11 appearances on loan for the relegated Cumbrians last season, scoring once.
"I've spoken to Preston and his agent and there's a couple of things that need to be added to his contract," Simpson told BBC Radio Cumbria.
"I'm hopeful we can have him on a long-term loan next season."
Meanwhile, Simpson says Leigh RMI striker David McNiven remains a transfer target.
McNiven scored 25 times for Leigh in the Conference last season, but his wage demands are proving a stumbling block for Simpson.
"I've spoken to him a couple of times but at the moment the money he wants is more than we can afford to pay," he added.
"There are still another two or three strikers I'm interested in."
