Carlisle United expect to have registered Chris Lumsdon in time to allow him to play in their Conference opener against Canvey Island. The former Sunderland midfielder is set to join the Cumbrians following his release from Barnsley last week.
However United boss Paul Simpson told BBC Radio Cumbria the deal will not be made permanent until Fred Story's takeover of the club is complete:
Simpson said: "We can't actually sign anyone until the deal is complete."
