Wake leaves Cumbrians
Brian Wake has become the first player to leave Carlisle United as part of manager Paul Simpson's clear-out.

Striker Wake, who has scored 11 times in 16 starts for the Cumbrians, has left Brunton Park after reaching an agreement to terminate the remainder of his contract.

The Third Division strugglers have put nine players on the transfer list.

Des Byrne, Craig Farrell, Darren Kelly, Brian Wake, Mark Summerbell, Steve Livingstone, David Lynn, John Slaven and Michael Jack are all available.

The Cumbrians currently lie bottom of Nationwide Division Three with just five points from their 18 games.

Manager Paul Simpson told BBC Radio Cumbria: "Some of the players are not what I'm looking for and some are going for financial reasons."
