Carlisle boss threatens to quit
Carlisle manager Roddy Collins has threatened to quit if the club's takeover is not completed within the next couple of weeks.

Businessman John Courtenay outlined his intention to buy the cash-strapped Third Division club from Michael Knighton more than three months ago but the deal has been delayed by a series of legal complications.

The situation has angered Collins, who is still restricted by a transfer ban because of a 40,000 loan from the Professional Footballers' Association.

He said: "I haven't got a clue what is happening. If things aren't sorted out in the next week or two, I don't see much point in staying.

"We keep hearing that it is all going to be resolved very soon, but nothing seems to be happening."

Collins, who became the first manager to move directly from Irish football into English professional football when he took charge at Brunton Park last July, works on a non-contract basis and is free to walk away at any time.

He added: "I have been offered a couple of other jobs in England and, the way things are going, I might have to consider them."
