Celtic confirm interest in Cardiff star Joe Ledley
Ledley scored in Cardiff's play-off final defeat by Blackpool at Wembley
New Celtic manager Neil Lennon has confirmed he is interested in Cardiff City midfielder Joe Ledley.
The 23-year-old Wales international is out of contract at the Cardiff City Stadium at the end of the month and has so far failed to agree a new deal.
Ledley is understood to have already visited Celtic's Lennoxtown training complex but is attracting interest from a host of clubs.
"He is one that interests us," Lennon said during his first news conference.
"We have made inroads [in terms of bringing new players in] and we will get cracking on that as soon as today is finished."
Ledley is also said to be considering offers from Celtic's Old Firm rivals Rangers and Italian giants Roma.
Premier League sides Everton, West Ham United, Blackburn Rovers and Wigan Athletic are also reportedly interested, while Stoke City saw a £6m bid turned down in the summer of 2008.
Cardiff's hopes of holding on to Ledley appear to have dropped after missing out on a place in the Premier League.
The Bluebirds were beaten 3-2 by Blackpool in the Championship play-off final at Wembley last month.
Ledley was on the score sheet to put the Welsh side 2-1 ahead, but his day ended in tears at the final whistle.
Cardiff City's new board said they would offer the player an improved offer to stay.
His negotiations with his hometown club had already dragged on for 18 months, but he said he would only make a decision on his future once he knew which division the Bluebirds would be playing in next season.
If Ledley decides to move to England's top flight the buying club would have to pay a compensation fee to Cardiff because he is under 24.
Cross-border transfers to Scotland, Northern Ireland or anywhere abroad do not require a fee once a player turns 23.
