Michael Chopra glad to find the net again

Michael Chopra peels away in delight after scoring his injury-time winner

Michael Chopra hopes he has found his goal-scoring touch again, just in time for the final play-off push.

The Cardiff striker ended a three-month drought to score both goals in the 2-1 win over arch-rivals Swansea City at the Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday.

And the Bluebirds, in fourth, hope to cement their play-off place at third-place Nottingham Forest on Monday.

"We've just got to keep winning games and hopefully nobody will catch us," said 19-goal Chopra.

"I love scoring goals, that's what I get paid to do.

"It's been difficult from my point of view that I haven't scored a lot of goals, but thankfully for me, I scored two goals [against Swansea].

"Hopefully the goals start coming just in time for the play-offs if we can get there.

"The way we've been playing the last few weeks and the players who have come back, it's looking all rosy."

Cardiff are eight points ahead of Blackpool, who sit just outside the play-offs in seventh and are looking good to secure a play-off place.

After Forest, they welcome Reading to the Cardiff City Stadium next Saturday, then face a tricky trip to Queens Park Rangers before their final home game against Sheffield Wednesday ahead of Derby away on the final day on the regular season.

But Chopra and the rest of the squad are all too aware about getting carried away after last season's dramatic collapse in mid-April when they went from automatic promotion contenders to missing out on the play-offs by one goal.

"We know what happened last season was a disappointment and a shock to everyone and we knew this season we weren't going to let that affect us," said Chopra.

"We've got another tough game on Monday and we will be preparing properly for that."
