Cardiff's crucial win over Leicester has proved very expensive
Chris Burke and Mark Kennedy head a host of Cardiff injuries that threaten their promotion push before Saturday's south Wales derby visit of Swansea.
Burke, Kennedy and Gabor Gyepes got hamstring problems in the 2-1 win over Leicester that are expected to keep the former two out for seven-to-10 days.
Gyepes' problem is longer term and he is expected out for up to four weeks.
Kelvin Etuhu (weariness), Paul Quinn, Anthony Gerrard (calf) and Darcy Blake (neck) are doubts for Swansea.
Blake was another casualty from the Foxes win, but his condition has improved after treatment from a chiropractor, while Jay Bothroyd will be back from suspension.
Centre-back Gyepes was already certain to miss Saturday's crunch Cardiff City Stadium match with a ban after his red card against Leicester.
Dave Jones after the Leicester win
The Bluebirds have all-but given up hope of having defender Kevin McNaughton back from a thigh injury against Swansea.
Captain Mark Hudson is targeting a mid-April return after ankle surgery, possibly at QPR on 17 April.
Midfielder Joe Ledley, who is back running and training after hip surgery, is thought to be looking at the 10 April visit of Reading for a return.
"It's catching up with us again," said Cardiff manager Dave Jones of his injury-hit side.
"I had to leave Burkey on [against Leicester]. He couldn't run, he couldn't move as he tweaked his hamstring.
"We basically played with eight men in the second half because of the injuries we've got."
The injury setbacks are far from ideal preparation for Saturday's sell-out with Swansea at the Cardiff City Stadium which sees both teams aiming to secure a play-off place.
Cardiff are better placed than their west Wales neighbours as they are one position and three points ahead in fourth and are on a good run of form picking 13 points from 15 which has taken them eight points clear of the chasing pack.
Cardiff deserved win - Quinn
Much of their change in form has been down to the return of several key players including midfield trio Stephen McPhail, Gavin Rae and top-scorer Peter Whittingham.
"I was getting my creative players back and I felt I saw some light at the end of the tunnel because I know what the players are capable of and it was a matter of games, but it's caught us up again," said Jones after the win over Leicester.
"When you've got players in certain positions I can chop and change it, but there's certain positions at this moment in time that I can't.
"Unfortunately, the ones I need to change are all in the treatment room, but we will see.
"It was great to see Joe [Ledley] out there warming up, so I'll have my arguments with the medical team and will try and push him."
