Cardiff City striker Michael Chopra was delighted to end his mini goal-drought with four goals against Derby County but admitted he wanted one more.

Tuesday's 6-1 home win ended a three-game losing streak for the Bluebirds.

Chopra had not hit the back of the net since 26 August but against the Rams equalled his best ever haul in a game.

"I remember scoring four goals for Watford a few years ago but I've never scored five and I was desperate to get the fifth," Chopra told BBC Sport.

"It was nice to get on the score-sheet, especially going five or six games without scoring.

"It plays on my mind a bit but I knew if I was going to get chances to score goals then I'll score them.

"Everything [clicked] really, the back four was fantastic, the midfield was great and Jay [Bothroyd] was fantastic as well.

"You couldn't have wished for a better performance."

It was the first time a Cardiff player had scored four goals in a game since Wales striker Rob Earnshaw did the same against Gillingham in September 2003.

The result was also the first time the Bluebirds had hit six in the league since they beat Crewe 6-1 at home in October 2005.

Chopra has now hit 12 goals from 13 games in all competitions this season and leads the Championship scoring charts with 11.

Cardiff climbed back one place to fifth in the Championship table with Tuesday's result but face a tricky trip to one of Chopra's former clubs Watford on Saturday.

"There's no point doing what we've done tonight and then just throwing it all away on Saturday," Chopra added.

"We know Saturday's a big game and we've put ourselves under a lot of pressure in recent weeks and we've managed to make the fans go home happy [on Tuesday night].

"We need that support for Saturday again, they've been fantastic tonight and we'll be looking forward to it."

One extra body in the stands of the Cardiff City Stadium to see the Rams humbled was potential investor Dato Chan Tien Ghee.

The Malaysian property tycoon's Football Focus Asia company is understood to be close to agreeing a "strategic marketing alliance" with Cardiff City to enter into the lucrative Far East market.

But Cardiff chairman Peter Ridsdale is also keen to bring further investment directly into the south Wales club.

Meanwhile, Cardiff's Championship fixture at Middlesbrough, scheduled for Saturday 12 December, has been moved to the Sunday with a 1315 GMT kick-off.
